I am thinking about getting this drive as my first SSD:
Intel 520 series SSD 180 GB, 25 nm MLC
SSD drives is not a new thing anymore, they have been on the marked and lost most of the most annoying drawbacks. They can live long if you use them right, they are not getting that much slower for every year anymore and they get cheaper and cheaper for every year.
Most of the drives are quite alike no big differences in capacity and if you compare the speed with ordinary sata drives, ssd drives are very fast. A few producers of SSD and many brands. Still it is only Intel and Samsung that makes their own memory chips and if you buy those two brands you know what you get.
As you know 25 nm is better than 20 nm when it comes to life expectancy of a drive and of course that you do not use the drive for moving files back and forth. Higher version memory has better speed than lower and is also more expensive.
Perfect! This is what I need to have to protect my working hours from bad productivity.
According to one of the best hardware sites in Norway in my opinion, hardware.no, Dell XPS 15 is a laptop which has a good battery and can deliver almost everything. Things I like is that you can have optional mobile wlan, esata, usb 3.o, long battery life before charging of course, flexible configuration and good sound. Bad thing is the screen that need to be updated.
Technology has so far increased to number of people on this globe, made us move over great distance several thousand years, made us communicate over big distances and polluted the whole place so it is barely a possibility to live some places like in China and India.
But, some of us believe that technology can save the planet.
